.MEMBERSHIP
& VOLUNTEERISM.
The Port Angeles Gun Club is governed by a President,
Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Publicity Officer, Field Captain,
and three Board Members. Elections for vacant positions are held each
year at a General Membership Meeting on a Sunday in February.
Sometimes circumstances warrant additional meeting(s) during the year.
Board Meetings are held during the year, as necessary.
A
few groups or committees will meet to discuss a variety of activities
such as an Events Committee, Building Committee, etc. as appointed by
the President.
COUNTER: The counter is manned by volunteers on Sundays and Wednesdays.
This person is responsible for collecting fees for shooting, selling
shoot tokens, selling reloading components, and announcing the squads
going to the line and who is on them. ALL MEMBERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO
VOLUNTEER FOR COUNTER DUTY. The more people that volunteer, the less
often any one person needs to perform the task.
Other volunteer help is needed to load the traps, stock the trap houses,
open the traps at the start of each shoot day, close and secure the
traps at the end of each shoot day, place the voice pulls on the trap
lines in the morning and put back in the clubhouse after shooting is
done for the day. Volunteers are also needed volunteer to keep score,
and to be puller/ scorekeeper at the 5-Stand. Many volunteer tasks can
be performed in between shooting and socializing. These good deeds will
be greatly appreciated by
your fellow shooters,
and repaid in kind.
From
time to time, volunteers are also needed for cleanup, maintenance, and
small construction projects around the Club.
Each Sunday, a tasty lunch is served by member volunteers for a
nominal fee to cover the expense. Some cook the lunch at the club in
our well equipped kitchen; others prefer to prepare it at home and
bring it to the club.
A GREAT AND SUCCESSFUL CLUB CAN ONLY BE THAT WAY THROUGH THE COMBINED
EFFORTS OF ITS MEMBERS.
REMEMBER: IT'S YOUR CLUB!
You do your part as a member when you volunteer!
